As an introvert, I often require quiet time and solitude. This is especially true after a day of work, which requires a lot of talking.

First off, let me say, I can socialize with people and have a lot of fun. But I always need to wind down at the end of the day.

This is the time I focus on self-care. These are my favorite introvert activities to recharge the social battery.

Move

I sit at a computer for most of my day and by the time I can walk away I can’t really “walk away.” My back hurts, my hips are stuck, and my neck doesn’t move properly.

Movement helps. It doesn’t matter if it’s yoga, walking, swimming, dancing, or anything else, as long as it’s something you enjoy as a solitary activity.

Create— Journal, draw, craft, stickers, etc….

Journaling helps me brain-dump all the thoughts I’ve had. I can vent frustrations, praise my successes, and talk myself out of becoming a hermit in the mountains.

Drawing for pure pleasure is a good way to unwind. I’m not much of an artist but I can rock a doodle of a duck like nobody's business. Seriously, he’s cute. Sometimes he even…
